1987 a4ld change out

Alright, I've never done this before but it can't be too hard. Just taking one 1987 a4ld and transfer case out of my 1987 Ranger 4x4, and putting another a4ld and transfer case in it from a 1987 Bronco II 4x4. My question is, is there anything special about how the torque converter goes on? I haven't taken the tranny out of the Ranger yet but from what I see the one from the Bronco just slides on. Nothing holding it at all. Is it that simple? I hope so. Also, is there some kind of gaskets I'll be needing for the transfer case? I'd like to know before I get started. Thanx Much.
