If anyone can link me to an article that answer my question it would be appreciated, I have a 99 ranger XLT with the 2.5 RWD Manual trans.

I'm wanting to engine swap to fix a variety of problems in having with my current engine and to have a a little more power for towing.

What are my best and easiest options to pull the drive train from? I'm currently considering the v6s from the same generation, the I4s from the next generation, or F150s? I want to keep it as a manual.
