2000 ranger r5 rear differential fill plug

Hi. I am new to the forum. I actually figured out my own problem but I can't seem to delete this post. :) I just bought a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT, but owned a 93 new years ago. While I have the bed off I figure I should change the rear differential fluid, It has 170K miles. I assume the Plug on the lower front is the fill plug. Has everyone had luck with reusing the original cover gasket, are should I plan on having a new one around?

R5 limited slip differential

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Paul

Most Ford rear axle covers didn't have a gasket, Ford just used black silicone sealant, but you can get gaskets for them

If you have a Limited Slip axle then you need to add a Friction Modifier or use an oil that has it added already
