4:30 or 4:56/best locker?

lots of new stuff added to my truck. But major power loss due to bigger tires and wheels and lift and yada yada.

i have an 02 edge 2wd.

What do you guys think. Which gear ratio would give best power/performance?

4.30 will put you very close to stock ratio on 33's. But since you have the 3.0, 4.56 wouldn't be a bad idea either

That is probably what I would do. If you have a 7.5" rear axle I wouldn't put a dime into it, get an 8.8" axle.

I'll say 4.88 just because I've never seen anyone really put smaller tires on, they only get bigger.

Junk yards, ebay, online salvage parts like lkq.

If you can weld get an explorer 8.8 disc brake axle.
If you can't weld I would suggest first looking for an fx4 Level II that will have a 4.10 gear ratio and a torsen limited slip. Grant that isn't all what you are going for, but it will be an upgrade over what you have now and will get you buy until you can spend the grand or so on the R&P and Locker. the main advantage of the Level !! axle is the 31 spline axle shafts. The axle code in the door for the level II axle is R7. I beleive the axle tag itself is v313, but I can check that later today.
