I have replaced sep plate and gaskets on the 96 2.3l ranger in question was throwin a PO761 code did the TSB upgrade and changed to a new shift solenod "c" put back to gether and still have same code and no O.D. but O.D light not flashing just check engine light . I did not change the EPC , but have read some issues on TPS could be the problem , I ve tried to check physical wire connections and wires themselves look good not sure how to pressure test and kind of looking for ideas , no known trans places here and the dealership is useless dealt wiht them before on parts. I have rev, 1,2,3. no O.D. dont want to replace its pcm or wiring but not sure what to try next any help ?

 

So you still have the CEL/MIL lamp on ??

What code? (the P0761 should be an electical fault code with SS#3, but electrical is the full length of the wires as well)

Did you compare the resistance of your old SSc to the new one?
