4wd high does not engage

4wd high does not engage

1999 ranger will not engage 4wd high, the light comes on, 4wd low also does not engage. Has anyone had this trouble?

I am having the same problem. When i put it in 4wd high i hear a thumping sound on the left and a grinding sound on the right. Everyone seems to say buy the manual locking hubs.
