4wheel-drive Problems

Hey I'm having some problems with my 4wheel drive, and I'm hoping that you guys might know whats going on with it. Currently it's lighting up the 4x4 light all the time, but it's in two wheel drive. Whenever I turn the switch to 4x4 or 4lo you can't hear the solenoid click anymore. Before this problem, the solenoid would click twice really fast, like it was activating and the unactivating in like 2 seconds, and 4x4 wouldnt engage all the time and I would usually have to stop, put it in park or neutral to get it to engage, or just turn the key to the on position. Im thinking it's maybe the solenoid or the 4x4 actuator, but I didn' know if any of your trucks have had the same problems...Thanks

OK, but i'm not in 4x4, it just says I am. The light won't shut off and the solenoid doesn't click.

Might need a new shift motor. Happened to me a few months ago.

Dont need to be in neutral for 2 - 4 shift. only 4 to 4 low.

Also make sure that the lights do a self test when you start the truck. If they don't you could have a bad 4wd shift computer.
