Icon5 4x4 messed up?

i was going down a trail and then going over a rock my front drive made a loud THUMP. once i got on clear ground(dirt, wet leaves) i stopped completely and stepped on it (still in 4wheel) and my tires spun. i don't know if all 4 went but seemed like only the rear. then i stopped again held brake and gas and rear tires spun (no idea if being in 4wheel will prevent doing a "wheelstand") i finally got out and tried to move the front shaft with my hand and it would not move. I assume its fine? because when in 2wd, the front shaft moves freely when turned by hand.....

Hubs could be bad. Also you would not be able to a powerbrake burnout in 4wd.

02 has no hubs. If it failing it's at the t case. Put both trucks on jack stands or a lift and put it in 4wd. See if all four tires spin.

Does it go into low? If it does but still spins the rear tires only then it's your hubs. They are sh!tty. Get some manual hubs.

The ones you have are powered by vacuum. If you have air leaks in the wheel bearing then you wont have 4wd. So if your truck has ever seen water and sand/mud then there's a good chance to seals are shot.

Manual hubs are powered by your fingers. Meaning you have to get out to lock it in 4wd. And you still need to turn the ****.

You will need to remove the brake rotors then use a screw driver to pry off the stockers. Then slide on the new ones.

*Oh and when my tires spun in 4x4 i was on a layer of wet leaves with wet dirt under it....so i think they would spin anyway...but weird it did a brakestand on that stuff with ease in 4wheel

The stock units are crap. You will save a lot of money buy buy manual hubs.

All you do is take the vacuum lines out and cap the ports.

You can install new seals into the front begins assuming your PVH hubs are good. You would spend around 30 bucks a side in new rubber, but it would take up to 2 hours to do a side. Pending your equipment and skill. If your auto hubs are bad they are 100 a side maybe more.

You buy this as a kit. So it converts to manual for one price. Which a good price is about 130. I left my vac line alone on this. I did cut the center out of my stock hub covers/caps.

ok i replaced my vacuum lines because i noticed they were terribly corroded. that did nothing. went down a trail and tried different things to see if the 4wheel drive worked and NOTHING. not it must be the hub or maybe soem electrical thing i assume. I got stuck twice becasue i had no 4x4 so i had to gun it to get out. may go get it looked at tomorrow if i have the time.....

oh and it was making some type of "grinding" noise on the front of the truck once i took it out of 4wheel drive and put it back into 2wheel. When i put it in 4wheel drive the shaft DOES engage but does not drive the tires so i think that may be it? it engaging but having trouble disengaging?

There is a vacuum ball on the passenger side that might have a leak.
