5r55e rattle where tranny meets block

Getting a rattle sound on my 5r55e in my 00 ohv ranger 4x4, only makes the sound when in gear and sounds like a nut or bolt rattling in the bellhousing where the trans meets the block, any ideas? Trans was having trouble shifting so I replaced the valve body gasket which was blown out and now it shifts fine and everything no problem until I drive for a while then starts slipping again, so should I go for the new valve body all together or pull trans and check torque converter first?

I know you'd prefer hearing from a transmission expert but you made this post a week ago.

How many miles on this 2000 truck? How many miles constitutes the "while" it takes for the transmission to begin slipping again?
Sounds like you could use an expert analysis before deciding what to do.
Assume it's not a loose fastener or sheared off bolt head. One of those would've settled into a nook or crannie by now.

You valve body isn't leaking because it doesn't slip constantly. Your unit must have worn soft parts. Could be time for a rebuild.

I'm guessing that pulling the trans and checking the TC first is an economical route. How does one check a torque converter?
At least then the transmission would be out if a rebuild is necessary.
