Icon6 5R55E transmission pan 2wd vs 4wd

Looking to get a pan with a drain plug. (just want to make draining easier if I have to drop the pan)
most sites selling transmission pans all say 4WD. From what I see, its just a little deeper, so should not matter. fluid level won't care if its in the proper place on dip stick?

I am guessing 2WD can do 4WD pan, but not the other way around.

Is this logic correct. Can I use the 4WD pan on my 1999 2WD 4.OL XLT?

Put an eyeball on your existing shallow 5r55e TrannyPan;
make sure you've got a inch or two of clearance underneath needed for the deeper Pan,
then see this thread for more info, part numbers & links for what you need.
