manuals are alreay getting scarce in the full-size (of all makes) only a matter of time before they are not available at all.

I am tired of shifting gears. I would much rather just put a truck in Drive, and let it do the hard work.

I don't mind auto's. In fact, I want an auto more then I want a manual when it comes to trucks. If I were in the car market, I would much rather have a manual, but since I am a truck guy, I want an auto.

Epic!

Ever roll up to a stop light and pop an auto into 'N'...
...in a car with a column shift
...then pop it back in 'D' to drive away
...and not realize what you've done for a mile or two?

Yeah, me too.

I guess i'll put my 2 cents in, I personally dont like the 5 spd in my ranger, with the 4.0 and 4.10 gears and the STUPID clunking noise, it can be annoying. I have to really be a good shifter to keep it from clunking and when downshifting or w.e not getting a big surge and jumpy feeling on uneven terrain because of the 4.10's outback. with that being said, all 3 vehicles my fam has are all manuals and they all serve their purposes. 4 cylinder s10 def needs the manual to get up to speed better, the 07 dodge 3500 needs to for towing the horse trailer and my ranger, well was just a good deal at the time and had everything I was wanting, extended cab, manual doors and manual locks, rubber flooring, 4.0, and 4x4 with LS rear. The stick just happened to be with this one but honestly in my ranger I wouldnt care either way. I enjoy the manual at times, cheaper to buy and replace, I can decide how to drive and move the truck, but going down to school downtown, traffic, and the rough 4.10's outback without really shifting well do get really annoying.....I think it all just depends on who you are and what purpose you need, id like to have a nice quick automatic car for daily driving, and then have a big diesel with a manual tranny for the weekend or to work and have fun with, but thats just me.
