5th gear loaded squeeker!!

97 2.4 5 speed truck. newer clutch. truck "squeeks" like a gerbil or something ONLY when in 5th gear above 60MPH..with engine loaded (foot in throttle with engine producing torque) if i slightly let off throttle the squeek goes away but as soon as i begin loading engine again, it re appears. ONLY in 5th gear at speeds above 60 mph. i've never experienced this before but am worried a bit. it's been doing it since i bought the truck in summer but have had ZERO issues with this reliable unit. just thought i'd see if i could find some info with this issue on here. again truck is great and has no issues at all other than this squeek!

thanks guys

If it is only in 5th gear its in your trans. The gears are probably worn out and that's why you only hear it when your in the throttle and the gear teeth are engaged.

Also, check trans and differential fluids, just to be sure they have enough.
