95 ranger 2.3 5 speed engine noise
95 ranger 2.3 5 speed engine noise
i have a 95 ford ranger 5 speed with 240,kkk miles when i start it idles low and rough and makes a lould noise sounds like its comeing from the valve cover?? i was told could be lifters does anyone know
What is low idle RPM?
low RPM = low oil pressure
240k miles = larger gaps in bearings so lower oil pressure in general
lowest oil pressure in any engine is at the valve train, gravity.
If noise if gone at 700 RPMs(and up) then noise if from lack of oil pressure, fix the low idle issue
But I would pull off the valve cover and check clearances in valve train

Ok and the noise don't go away when I'm drive and no low idle but when I stop it try's to die but don't it shakes a lot when just idleing

What did you find as far as the noise??
Did it go away with cover off?
My crystal ball is off-line right now so best I can say is, an engine can break down anytime, but with an unknown noise it might be sooner than later.
