Icon11 another P0715 issue

2003 ranger 4.0 180,000 mi., trans replaced at 130,000 mi
I too am getting P0715 code with flashing O/D light and slipping/harsh shifts. Why oh why did they put the TSS inside? $30 part now cost $1000 to replace.
If bang shift won't hurt the trans is it OK to continue driving the truck as is? Will this eventually become damaged beyond repair?
RE: Bite the bullet and fix it now?
Best to totally rebuild trans or is it OK just to replace the internal Turbine Speed Sensor? OR just swap trans with a used one and hope for the best?
What do you all think?

I am getting too old to roll around under my truck wrestling transmissions.

You have 50,000 miles on your "new" trans. How long has it been banging?

my bro accidently added a pint of CVT fluid awhile ago, do you think that would cause any problem?

How long ago was "a while"?
If it was about a week ago.....I'd be thinking pump-out via a disconnected cooling line.
A poured pint might be 5% of the transmission's total capacity.
I don't know if that's enough to matter, but selecting incorrect fluids can have bad outcomes.

Warming it up and doing a transmission line pump-out is an effective and affordable first attempt.

The CVT fluid was added 2 months ago, the P0715 just showed up a week ago and had the flush done 3 days ago
