another question concerning the front diff.

ive been looking at lockers and limited slips and ive seen applications for c-clip and no c-clip dana 35s. i believe i have found splines other then 27 spline.

could any of these applications work? if so, which ones? i know our d35 up front isnt a standard differential but the only thing ive found is a no-slip or sumthin like that. i dont want a full locker that cant be disengaged.

A no-slip is prob what you want. Its a limited slip, not a full locker.

And there are 28" spline axle 8.8's, and 31" spline, no 27. 31" are found in lvl2's and explorers, 28" are usually found in 4.0 and some 3.0 ranger applications.

Only thing that is going to work is the No Slip lunchbox type. The "35" in the IFS Ranger is not a true 35, so no selectable will work. The R&P is 35, but not the housing. There are rumors of guys from the ex boards making an ARB for a Dodge IFS work, but I've never seen it, just "heard" about it.

ive always wondered wut made the front diff not a true 35. so thats why they call it a hybrid.

ive found out that mudding doesnt really need a locked front and 4 lo with the limited slip in the rear has gotten me out of everything ive been in.

anybody know anything about the powertrax electrac? its an on demand locker that is limited slip until activated electronically by switch. i have yet to find a price for it though. ive decided on either that or an ected.

Better read up on the no-slip!!! LOL, it is a locker NOT a limited slip. It is an automatic locker maybe that is why you think it is a limited slip.

He is talking about the FRONT axle, you know what that is right!!!!!

YOu don't want the dana 35 c-clip or non c-clip, you want the dana 35 hybrid, do a search on the xploer page to get the part number on the front no-slip locker.

ive found a place that has the no-slip for our front axle. i prolly wont lock the front until farther down the road. the rear i may end up doing this summer.

the only thing i play in is mud. no rocks and the only hill im climbing is at the end of a hole. i think a locked rear could get me out of that.
