Anyone running 3.73 gears with 33's?

I am about to lift my truck and put tires on it. I have 3.73 gears on my 2010 and was wondering if anyone else is running this setup and if they were happy with it. I might just get 32's instead. I know I had 4.10's with 33x12.50's and it was still a great running truck. Any input would be great. I do not have the money ($1200-$1500) to re gear so I will get tires with that in mind. Thanks yall

I'm thinking it'll be a little sluggish. Maybe Ty(Tys 4x4) will chime in. He ran all different size/types of tires with his 3.73's.... Or maybe he had 4.10's.......?

I WAS running 3.45's with 31's and I had no power, upgraded to 4.10's with 31's and it's pretty much back to stock.

It will suck IMO. I had 33s and 3.73s with the 4.0L OHV, which liked lower revs but it still wasn't ideal. Then I had 4.10s and 33s on the sport trac (4.0L sohc), and didn't care for that much either. I would hate driving SOHC with 3.73s and 33s.

I had this same setup. 3.73s. 4.0 OHV. 33s. I thought it ran fine. Wasn't bad at all I thought. Definitely not winning and drag races, but really who cares. It worked.

I said it wasn't ideal, but the sohc would be worse I think. Mine was about the same as a stock 3.0l off the line which sucks. Had to run up mountains in 3rd gear all the time.

Towing did suck, actual wheeling sucked because I had to use 4 low almost all the time. Then again he does live in Arkansas so there aren't really mountains and probably doesn't wheel it...

4.0 right?

So far I've had 3.73, 4.10, 4.56, and 4.88 on my truck but I have a 3.0 so it doesn't compare

It won't be ideal, but will work. I don't think you will like it though. You will definitely want to plan on changing the gears at some point.

I've been on 33s with 3.73 gears and a 3.0 for a few months now. It's sluggish through 1st and 2nd but it works. I don't go wheeling or anything so it's not quite as bad as it could be. I'll definitely upgrade my gearing when I can find the right axle at a JY around here though.

i have 3.73 with some 31s and its not to bad but i think if you went with 33s then u would probably get tired of that fast haha. it might help to have a POSI rear end, which is why i dont want to get 4.10s on another axle cus i like my POSI A LOT!! haha
