auto to manual swap

Hey there, i got a 2003 ford Ranger XLT 4x4 4.0L Automatic, Friend will sell me a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0L 2 Wheel Drive Manual truck for $500 with 130,000km on it But blown Headgasket.

Wondering how hard it will be to swap the Manual Tranny into my Automatic, now since i have the Hole Truck there i wouldn't think it would be to hard and i shouldn't need to buy much parts im guessing.

Anyone have any Advice or Pointers?

Thanks for looking

i think the motor trans mounts are different, 2000 = OHV / 2003 = SOHC

A computer swap will be on your horizon, since you current PCM for the truck with the auto is gonna throw codes when it doesn't see auto tranny things (like the locking torque converter). If you're thinking about swapping the ECM's you now have, there's the wild card on the differences between the SOHC and OHV 4.0 and how that OHV computer will work on a SOHC motor. I'm betting it won't work right. Not sure on the motor/tranny interface.
