Bad squeaking in rear tire(s)

I have a really bad, and annoying squeaking in my rear tire, sounds like its passenger side, im not sure what it is, it still drives fine, and doesn't do it in reverse. it happens between 1-10 km/h weather i have my foot on the gas or not, and then up to 50 km/h only when my foot is on the gas. i noticed there are grease fittings there on the back of the drum, could that be it, or does anyone have any suggestions? i'll probably take it to ford this week to see what they say but thought i'd try here first.
thanks

Those are not grease fittings, they are bleeders for the rear wheel cylinders. Oh my guess on the squeaking is that your rear brake shoes are hanging up or they are toast.

deff dont put grease in those fittings, lol. I had the same problem on my first ranger and I cleaned and adjusted the rear drums and it fixed me right up... Good luck!

You may have a build up of brake dust in the rear drums causing the squeaking. I would pull the drums clean the drums, hardware, and adjust them.

Hey did you figure this out Andrew?? I've got the same type of squeak, from 1-10km/h. I cleaned out my drums today and that didn't make a difference. It sounds like too fast of a squeak to be the brakes.. like whatever is squeaking is rotating 2-3 times faster than my wheels. I put it up on stands, but couldn't hear anything by turning the wheels by hand. There's no play in the u-joint and I changed my gear oil today, and the gears look fine.

Yep, most likely u-joints. They make sort of a high pitched short squeak, but not loud enough to notice after you reach a certain speed.

haha.. ok well thanks.. i just grabbed a new joint and i'm going out to change it after i finish my grilled cheese sandwich. it might be fun without a vise. But I have a big C clamp and if that doesn't work a BFH. Maybe I'll go get some beer first.

I thought that's required at all times when working on your personal vehicle? At least 3 I say. Plus it numbs your hands when you smash your knuckles on something...

You're right... the beer fridge is the most important tool in the garage!

Well I changed my joint and no more squeakies! I threw a new one on the front of the shaft too while I had the shaft out. The rear u-joint was bad, three sides looked ok and then one was completely dry and powdery. Is this normal for 72,000 km (44,000 miles)?
