Upgrade the clutches to whatever he can get.

I love my new custom converter from http://fuddleracing.com/. I went 800 over stock which is very nice.

250 shipped

Trans was bought off ebay and the seller claimed heavy duty clutches and shift kit. It shifts to soft for a shift kit. In the spring im going to either change the vb or install a transgo kit.

With the converter the truck revs right up to 3300 ish rpm before the truck really moves. Only downside I have seen is on hill the truck will roll backwards while in drive, before the truck would not. Also a higher stall converter can cause higher then stock tranny temps. So a B&m super cooler was installed with the converter.

I will give you some PN's when I get back from the shop tommorow.

I just got mine done, all aftermarket clutches, torque converter, trango shift kit, etc. I was told it will be as strong as the 5r55e...so I guess thats good?

I believe the reverse clutch separated from the band. Forward was unaffected. I just sick of no reverse. I put 10k on the trans like that.
