Help me w/ LS install!

Ok... some background info first, my truck has the 8.8 28 spline open differential with 4.10 gears. I am buying a LS differential (pics below), with the oem pin, and an unused shim pack that came with a locker. Exactly what else will I need to install this on my truck using my existing 4.10 gears?

shouldn't need anything since you are using the same gear ratio w/ the LS carrier....should be able to take your carrier out and use the shims off it to install the L/S carrier....just make sure you remember which side the shims came off of so they can go back on that side.....

your going to need a press or just get new bearings for the carrier...

also will need to check your backlash and all that... wouldnt be any different then installing a new Ring and Pinion.

i would recommend getting some help from someone that has setup a 8.8 before.

My uncle is a mechanic, I plan on taking it to his garage and him helping me, I'm not sure if he has setup an 8.8 but I know he has done gears and rear ends before.

I want to get everything before I get my LS so I will be good to go. So far my list contains this:
- new carrier side bearings and races
- gasket maker stuff (do you recommend this over an OEM gasket?)
- LS additive (what brand do you all recommend?)
- differential fluid (same ?, what brand?)
