So I bled my clutch today and black chunks came out from the line? WTF?!? Is it the seals from the master or slave cylinder? Help. Thanks.

Before I bled it I would have to pump it like 40-50 times before I could drive anywhere. It would sometimes creep forward on a flat street when I had it in gear and the clutch down. Now it feels fine. I can put it into gear easily and it doesn't creep. There is some play in the pedal, maybe like an inch before it starts disengaging the clutch.

that little bit of free play at the top is pretty much normal.....mine has about 3/4"ish...and it's got 5k on it. I think you may have had dirt somehow get in the resevore...or possibly air. But that still doesn't really explain the chunks. Just be aware, youll probably soon, within 10k have a slave change.

Wait until you have problems of 75% pedal play....meaning....you only have a usuable clutch for like the bottom 2".......it's REALLY fun trying to drive when you only have like 1" of clutchige.

I don't know correct termige, but "up top" = pedal close to you, not depressed. down bottom = pedal pushed in.

I didn't change it when I had the clutch done at 67k because I didn't know about the problem with the slave cylinders at the time. I have 92k now. I think I will change the master cylinder and tranny as well. The tranny is starting to leak from seal in front of the extension housing.
