burning smell in front of truck after driving.

i just got the trunk inspected. good mechanic been going to him for years not his fault wasnt told to investigate it. but after i drive it i can smell a burning smell in front of the truck grill area and or behind the left front wheel. just got inspected so eveything passes. it runs fine not dragging brakes. what could be burning up?

Easy fix

I had this happen to my 06 ranger over the summer. Engine would quit. Ended up putting a new gas shut off switch and fuel filter. No problems since. Found that the gas shut off switch goes out around 40k. My truck has 39k on it. Hope this helps.
