Can a 2wd M5ODR1 be converted to 4wd?

Hey, I have a 1994 ranger 4x4 4.0 that I need to replace the trans in. I have a 2wd m5r1 trans and was wondering if it can be used or converted to replace the 4wd trans.

Yes, it can be done. I don't know the exact needs, but definitely the output shaft and the extension housing at the least.

I'm sure it can. Not sure how much work though. I have a 94 2wd also. Looks like the wiring and even is there for it. Pull the dash back around the instrument cluster. Behind that false vent in the middle is the 4wd wiring harness. Just need the transfer case and front end out of an old ranger. Not sure what's compatible though.
