Well many of you know I blew up a CV a couple weeks ago. Now I need to know how to replace it. Does anybody here have any experiance doing this and can walk me through it? Anybody know what manuals I could buy to help me with this? ANY ideas are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Did a search on

http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/

Search for no-slip locker or locker. There is a how to on removing the axle.

But heres a short one, the way I removed my cv-axles. Its not hard, just takes some time.

1. Block truck and jack up front and put on jack stands.

2. Remove wheels.

3. Remove axle nut. It is big, 27mm or something like that. Use impact or big cheater bar. If you use the cheater bar have someone step on the brakes to keep the axle from turning.

4.Use rubber hammer to tap axle out.

5.Remove bolt holding upper ball jonit and hit upper a-arm with hammer to get ball joint out.

6. Now u should be able to slide the cv axle out of the bearing (If replacing the pass. side might have to turn the wheel all the way to the left)

7. Now that u have that side out, use a pry bar or large screwdriver and pop the other side of the cv-axle off the axle. MAKE sure not to hit the rubber seal.

That should do it. Take you time and than just reverese the order.

Heres what the pass. side looks like after I took my out. Also I took the cailper off, do that b4 you remove the upper a-arm.

Good luck.

I Fixed The Site Clock... Adjust Yours Accordingly...

Oh for the PVH, I don't know how that works. I think u have to open up the hub than get the snap ring out and some small allen key bolts. But thats just a guess.

Heres the link I was talking about.

Its to remove the axle.

Maybe check the rangerstation???
