Clicking sound front drivers side

I have a 04 ranger 5speed manual 4.0 4x4 I have been getting a fair amount of work done on this thing it has always had a clunk when shifting I went through a few hings even took it into a shop who couldn't figure out where it is coming from .
about a month ago just after I have the clutch system * about a week or to after) done pressure plate throw out bearing slave cylinder done for clutch) I could hear a clicking noise coming from the drivers side front wheel , at first I thought that it was a rock becasue it sounded exactly like that but I checked all of the tires no rocks in them and also it seems to get louder when driving at over 70 Km/h and if I turn left , the next thing I was thinking was CV joint front end took it into a shop they couldn't hear it I even went for a ride with them in the passenger seat and couldn't hear that clicking ( because i notice it mostly at night when it is quieter on the roads) but they said that my Lower driver side ball joint was gone passenger side was going. I got that done thinking that maybe it was play. but that hasn't done anything. on a side note since day one I have had a vibration at 110Lm/h which is possibly related had all wheel re balanced same problem. I still hear that dam clicking noise sometimes at lower speeds if there is say a center meridian on the road and I am driving beside it it is noticeable. anyone have any other possibility as what it could be the one thing is that if my windows are closed I don't hear it . I do know what a CV joint sounds like when it is going and when one does go it is noticeable and the sound isn't the same this is more or a rock stuck in the tire sound then a cv joint sound but then it just might be but the shops I have took this to haven't figured it out . I called a driveline place but they are back upped for 2 weeks before I can get in

The CV like joint on the front drive shaft at the transfer case is a know "click" point, lol.
And it is on the drivers side

So I would start there, it is called the Propeller Shaft CV Joint, there are a few videos out there on replacing it

I have been procrastinating checking out the front drive shaft, I have a quick question because I live in a apartment makes it hard for me to work on my truck and also having to have to drag my tools down 3 flights of stairs is a real drag I am wondering which size sockets and wrench's will I need also can I drive my truck with out the front driveshaft in while I wait for a the kit ( if it needs one) or will I have to drop the front shaft inspect it put it back in?
