3.90 in a 302 ranger?

I have a 1987 4x4 ranger with a carbureted 302 and am running stock gears with the stock 5-speed trans. I want to upgrade but wanted some input first. Should I get 3.90? I have a 6" lift with 33's and hope to upgrade to 35x14.50's very soon. Input please? Thanks :)

Um you might as well just go with 4.10's with the 302 combination, most guys will say 4.56 or 4.88's, but's that with V6. My buddy has a project mud truck with a fully built carb 302 and he is still running 4.10's no problem with 38's. Just an example. IMO 4.10s
