Clutch pedal bushing?
Clutch pedal bushing?
So it an 01 3.0 edge 5 speed 2wd.
The clutch pedal freely swings backward - like if you accelerate hard or going uphill it acts like a plumb bob, naturally rests about even with the brake and functions OK but does feel weak/no confidence haha. Talked to a trans shop and he said it looks like the plastic clip that the pedal rod is supposed to snap into the master is either broke or gone. The rod cant fall out so its not a safety concern but it is annoying.
Whats the fix? The clutch safety switch moves up with the pedal and rotates around. Is that supposed to also be snapped together?
All i see on the master side is a smooth circle and a rounded tab sticking up that seems to line up with the notch on the clutch switch..

Probably the only fix will be to replace the master, it comes with rod attached or the clip that the rod snaps into, once rod is snapped in it can't be removed without breaking the clip, which has happened to your master
Yes, the switch is loose on the rod but wiring usually holds it from swinging around
On some masters there is a clip that hold switch to master, seen here: https://www.2carpros.com/forum/autom...2217_CPP_1.jpg

Only plastic clip in that system is this one that attaches to the stud in the arm of the pedal.

You also need to check the pedal assembly itself for wear.
