Icon5 consistent whine in drive/reverse

My truck has started to whine when I'm in drive. Its consistent with the RPM so when i hit the gas more to increase the RPM it gets higher pitched. The noise it makes is almost the same exact tone as when a truck/car is doing a burnout with 1 tire fire not the screech but the "buzz" when it gets going fast. I put it in reverse and drove up my street and it makes sort of like a ticking noise as im going.

Any Ideas what it could be? It doesn't do it in neutral.

Ya, it could be your rear going out. I know on my mom's expo it makes a whine like you are talking about. Its coming from her rear end. I think hers will go out in the near future.

perfect timing, right before winter even begins fml.

but whats odd is that in neutral the rear axle will still be spinning and it doesn't do it in neutral

I have sounds similar to those, but I'm pretty sure mine is coming from the front. Not looking forward to the cost of the repair. I feel your pain.

Yea, I'm pretty sure mine is CV axles. And pretty sure I have a pinion seal leak. Amongst other annoying problems, lol.

Didn't think of that, hopefully that's it. You should really try to find some time to do it yourself. I think it was $22 when I did them myself. Parts/labor on something that simple is going to suck.

43 hours in a week aint sh*t son.. lol

You mention that it doesn't do it in nuetral. Ok. When you're driving and accelerating pretty hard, does it sound the same as when you completely let off the gas? Rear end whine will change pitch or quit when you do this.
