Welcome to the forum

4R44E and 55E, and the 5R44E and 55E are the same mechanically

You can pull off the old bell housing but the main pump will come out with it, which is fine, but you will need to align the pump/shaft on the new/replacement bell housing

Short Video here on alignment:

Long video here on rebuilding these transmissions but at 5 min mark he removes bell housing so you can see what should happen:

His videos are good but you need to be careful especially if its your first rebuild. He goes thru it rather quickly and skips a few major things during assembly. He puts all his steels and frictions together then he flips them over as hes installing them. Never tells you wich direction is considered top and never tells you to presoak all your frictions overnight in trans fluid. I followed his instructions then had to take it all back apart cause my lap seals were all upside down.
