D44 Gears

Are HP and LP D44 gears different?
i want to think yes and no..

the problem is the van i'm going to get has a LP D44 and i just want to get the suspension and steering setup. then worry about the little stuff. like a HP axle

If i buy gears and put them in the LP axle, then go home and get a HP axle will the gears transfer over or should i not even buy gears for the first axle

They are different.

Low pinion will use standard cut gears while high pinion uses reverse cut gears. They are not interchangeable.

nope not gonna keep it!

and i have a feeling gears for a LP axle would be pretty hard to sell since no one wants a low pinion axle i think

a spool and 5.13s will do pretty good. my other option is just to leave the gears in the axles and wheel them that way. i'll only do that if they're 4.10s or possibly 4.56

It wouldn't matter what gears were in the axle as long as you didn't have the 4wd functioning.

oh i know

option 1) Gear the rear axle, spool it and dont build a front drive line
option 2) leave stock gears in and build a front drive line
option 3) waste the money gearing both and building a front drive line
