What vehicle is the D44 from? That will help solve a lot of the confusion. Is it a front axle or a rear axle? More information is needed.

Its a rear axle from a Ranger 4x4 d/c (argentina version).
The problem is withe de arb distributor in argentina , that says " i dont know if the d44 arb locker from usa it goes in the d44 argentina version".

I didn't know Ford ever made a rear D44? As long as it's solid axle though and not TTB or the Rubicon "D44" the center chunk should be the same... and thus the ARB should be the same... right?

The first argentina ranger (98) have a rear axle Ford 8.8 4.56 then in (01)where Ford 8.8 4.10,and then with the new engine in 3th quarter of 01 swap to Dana 44 4.10 then in 03 goes to Dana 44 3.73 finally in 05 goes with a newer engine to Dana 44 3.54 .
That is more or less the history of the rear axles of the ranger in Argentina.

This weekend whe are going to open the axle and take the measures needed.
