just pulled the rear diff tag off my 87 Ranger 2.0L 5spd, and i can't make heads or tails of it other than the fact its a 7.5.

If anyone can please decode this for me i would be very thankful and it would help a lot, i think i might have to replace one of the axle bearings but i'm not sure and i'd like to know what i'm looking at to go find a comparable unit.

the axle code is

Top Row:
S398D - -
Bottom Row:
4 5 A75 6K15

IF anybody has any ideas.... they are most welcome...thank you!

7.5" would be my guess by the "A75", but check the bellhousing as seen in the bottom of this link

I figured it out by posting the same question on the ranger station... after i pounded out the tag some more and took the wire brush back to it.

its a 3.45:1 ratio...
