It has something to do with the axle. Its my inlaws truck and they called a shop for a quote to get the axle fixed and the shop asked if it had a pull hub or not.

No idea what a pull hub is suppose to be. Damn these people and their backwards terminology! lol
Which axle? Is it a front CV joint or something? The hubs on the front of an 06 4x4 ranger are a 1 piece hub/bearing unit. There is no actual disconnect hub, it is always engaged.
I would say if the shop is asking this question, call someone else. Seriously. Anyone should be able to look up a parts book and see what is on the truck in my opinion.

I did a search on Google and even they don't know what a "pull hub" is. I suspect that there has been a misunderstanding with your inlaws.
