drive shaft
drive shaft
Hey all,
96 ranger 4x4 4.0 manual hubs, electric transfer case, reman engine and transmission, wheel base is 125 inches
i'm in need of a two piece 60 inch drive shaft with flanges on both ends, my center u joint came apart and the drive shaft beat its self silly on the bottom of the truck, not having any luck finding a new or used one.
oem is non existent and havent been able to find a after market one either, rebuild mine for $800 is a bit much i think!
any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would switch to a 1 piece drive shaft, article here: https://www.therangerstation.com/Mag.../offroad.shtml
"1998 and newer 4x4 Extended Cab Rangers have a nice one-piece shaft that is a 90% bolt-in swap"
Lube the slip joint(under the rubber boot)
Wrecking yards move vehicles around using fork lifts which will damage driveshafts, so look for dents
