Early Broncos all had 9" rears, There were 3 different types. small bearing, medium bearing and Big Bearing. All were 28 spline axle shafts.

I would just get different shafts for your 8.8. You will have driveshaft clearance issues with a EB 9".

The early bronco has weird offset on the pumpkin, I have one in my truck the driveshaft would be about an inch into the factory tank.
