found a 1354 manual

found a 1354 manual

the local jy has a late 80's early 90's ranger in there with a manual t-case...it an auto tranny. will that t-case work for my 1998?

You sure it's a 1354? Yes, it'll bolt right up. Make sure your tailhousing on your trans has the threaded bungs for the linkage to bolt to. Make sure shafts bolt on and not slip on. if it's slip on, you're looking at a 1350.

1354s didn't show up till like 90 or 91, so be careful and be sure you know what you're looking at.

they showed up in 90 thats the year mine is out of

a 1350 will work but its not as strong

and he'll have to get new front and rear shafts, or at least modify the rear shaft...

true forgot about that


he will need the front shaft out of the parts truck and he will need the front flange off the drive shaft for the rear

Tim....just make sure it's a 1354. If it is, your rear shaft will bolt right to it. Grab a front shaft from a 95-98ish Explorer WITHOUT the stupid 'bucket' design that's on your truck now. With that shaft, you'll be able to put the superlift on it down the road and not have to worry about blowing the stock front shaft up. And that shaft will bolt right up to your front axle and the 1354.
