Four wheel drive locking hubs

Okay I have a 99 Ranger extra cab XLT. 3.0 motor. Four-wheel drive. The left front Locker has been popping out, when it pops out that side starts to vibrate pretty good. Also it's pretty chewed up and needs replacing. My question is can I just put some manual Lockers in there? Might there be an issue with the Hub on that side?

1998-2000 Ranger 4x4s used PVH(pulse vacuum hubs) which didn't work well

Yes, there are manual hubs available, made only by AVM but also sold under Mile Marker or Rugged Ridge brands

Hubs should be OK, the vibration is because end of axle is not being held in place by the cap, if axle end looks chewed up then you may need to replace that axle

Here is an article on this upgrade to manual hubs: https://www.therangerstation.com/tec...hub_swap.shtml

You are there we are not, so only you can access the hub damage on that side, if PVH cap is popping out, then AVM cap may pop out as well on that side
Compare the two sides for differences

I'm just wondering if they make a mechanical locking cap that will just fit on my stock vacuum hub and work?

That's the AVM, its a mechanical locking cap, not sure about the question???

There is this modification to lock PVH hubs: https://www.therangerstation.com/Mag...cuumhubs.shtml
Never tried it

But I doubt cap would stay on if something is broken, that's the real issue, cap should NOT pop off

And then there is this: https://www.therangerstation.com/tec...-to-live-axle/
Full time lock by changing axles for a Live Axle setup used on Explorers and then 2001 and up Rangers
