My front diff has been leaking for a while and i went to drive around in 4wd the other day (bad road conditions) and after a while i noticed a noise coming from the front end and it stopped when i took it out of 4wd im assuming that i've lost to much fluid so i went to the auto parts store today and got some but when i went to add it i didnt see a fill hole. Where is it and how much work is it to get too it? Also i need to replace the seal where the drive shaft connects, how do i take off the front drive shaft?

those look like pics of a pre-98 D35 TTB front diff.

 

it's possible, but I wouldn't know. I'm a total noob.

also, fix the leak. where is it leaking from? my guess would be the pinion seal

 

well its not like in those pics. there's something threaded sticking out the drivers side but im not sure it thats it, it has a square cut into it, not real sure how to describe it.

is it the pinion seal that is leaking?

 

there should be 2 bolts that hold on a clamp that holds the ujoint in place. take all 4 bolts out and you shoulb be able to move the d/s out of the way

 

axle side -- four 7mm I think bolts..
tcase side -- 8 allen head bolts.. ( I think its 8)

 

axle side is a t20 or t30 torx

i know this sounds mean so im sorry in advance, i dont know how else to say it

the fill plug is on the drivers side and has a 3/8" square drive spot in it. if you ran it dry enough where its noisy you probably have a bad bearing. and if you cant figure out how to fill it yourself, you probably shouldnt be replacing a pinion seal or bearings

 

The easiest way to fill it is get a quart bottle with the pointy cap. Get yourself some 3/8" tube feed the tube around the tire under the frame and into the fill hole. its gonna be messy, but it works pretty slick.

 

I always used one of those pumps that screws onto the bottle of fluid. They're like $5-$10 at the parts stores.
