Gears

Uh. I feel stupid asking

But how do you check the gears? I was just wondering what mine are.

Auto with 3.0

There is a tag on the drivers side door jam with a number or look at the little tag on the diff cover and tell us what is says and we'll tell you what you have.

Only numbers I could find on the diff over. The tag is upside down too, unfair.

you can also tell from the door sticker.

86 87 95 96 and 97 are the most common codes.

Thanks I couldn't remember where that site was. I have it saved on on my computer at home. I'll keep my stronger axle and crummy gears.

Katie it might be easier to find a ford 8.8 its a bigger and stronger axle.

hey katie there is an explorer axle around me somewhere if i remember for sale, its like 200 bucks obo. disc brakes, 8.8, 4.10 with LS out of a 96 exploder comes with leaf springs. you have to weld new perches, i think thats all.
