ok.. so yesterday it was sunny out, and at one point was at 70 degrees.. great day.. today i wake up and bam.. 30 to 40 mile an hour winds, and snowing for most of the day, followed by alot of ice, etc..

so anyway, with that in mind.. today i go out to my truck.. let it warm up for 10-15 mins or so, then put it in reverse to back out, and for a second.. nothing.. like im in nuetral or park or something.. then it would all of the sudden break free and go.. from there on it ran fine.. i get to the house im working at.. let the truck sit out front for like 5 hours in the snowy, icey winds, untill i stopped for lunch.. again.. i started the truck.. let it warm up.. went to put it in reverse to back out of the parking spot.. and the same thing happens.. the truck is just sitting there for like 2 or 3 seconds revving, then would all of the sudden jump into action..

today was the only time this has ever happened.. is it something with the weather maybe??? i mean.. everything started to get sheets of ice on it. my doors were frozen shut, as well as the wipers having a coating of ice.. i figure it was really cold or something.. but. i dunno, anyone have any input??? thanks guys

water has been known to get into the rotors and freeze causing this.

could your E-brake freeze... Mine has done that once or twice when I set it after a rain or snow then a cold night.

 

i didnt have the e brake on. would that matter tho, could it still affect it?

 

no prob not if you did not set it... See my prob is I always do to save my tranny..... When we get those cold nights it seizes right up!

 

im half and half with it.. my driveway is a steep hill.. so, whenever im parked tthere, i use the e-brake.. but if im out in the street.. its up in the air.. just depends if i think to put it on or not. but today i knew it wasn't on at either times cause both times i looked thinking that may have been it.

 

Nah I'm pretty sure its your tires freezing to the ground lol. I have the exact same problem, and its happened after it was wet and then froze. You prolly have to add some RPM and ten "CHUNK" and your truck knocks back. I never get it though when its soo cold that there is no moisture in the snow.

well mine would do that and they told me that my spider gears were ruined. but i dont know mine only would do if it sat all weekend like if i went out of town or i road around all weekend in someone elses car

 

I think my tires frooze to the ground once. I usually dont hit the gas when im backing up, she creeps along, but i noticed i wasnt moving s i had to give the baby some gas, and POP both the rears came loose, and it was funny driving with an ice spot on my tire.

So take a look at your tires to see if their glued to the ground. and man our weather is acting wierd as hell, we had 70 four days in a row, then 20 for three days in a row, plus snow, ice, rain, the works.
