wont shift out of park

wont shift out of park

ok i started up my truck, its a 94 ranger 4x4 v6 4.0 auto, and i pout it in reverse, and it did not shift in to reverse, so i pout it in park and said WTF, and like 5 second later i pout it back in to reverse, and it went in, what would cause that, and how do i fix thanks...........

well theres a sensor that requieres you to push the brake in before futting it in park and when that goes it will give you difficulty and most likely will get worse and not let you take it out at all, i'm not sure of the set up though with a column shift, but if you find it you can easily just disable it, or push it manualy with like a screw driver.
