Guess what I just scored for free.

My boss just came in and was talking about my Ranger, he deals in fullsize 4x4 Fords and just informed me he has a 3 speed and transfer case out of a 70's Bronco that I could come grab at no cost to me.

So I told him I get off at 5:30, I'll be at his house at 5:45.

I'll throw some pictures up when I get it and get home so you guys can tell me more.

This guy just scored 6,436,917,943 cool points with me, i'll be in 4 in no time. :-D

Well, I have no bellhousing, it came off of a 302, but an old one.

So it's still smallblock, I'm all about swapping in the three speed the xcase is bolted to, so nothing will jive? The gearing should be beautiful.

well, I have pictures. Tell me more.

Give me some good news, this has been my biggest hurdle in the whole process of getting this thing going.

Bump for getting this project that much closer to completion.

And of course I already knew it wasn't impossible to bolt up the D20 to my AOD, of course there is a $600 adapter for that.

Alright, let's look at it this way, would I be losing out to trade this tranny and xcase for a newer 302 Bronco auto and xcase?

From what I can tell the Dana 20 is pretty damn tough, I'd love to drop the $600 on the adapter, but if I can find a AOD tranny with a xcase attached and someone willing to trade would that be a fair trade on my end?

The guy I got the tranny and xcase from also told me he had hella parts I could have, he said he has some drivetrain parts, random sbf parts and lot's of 4 wheel drive stuff.

I mentioned one tons and he said, "Let me clean out my shed, I'm sure I have plenty in there."
