hard shift into second

i have a 93 ranger xlt 4.0 auto
when i floor it, it shifts into second around 45 mph but it shifts hard. ne one have the same problem or know what to do

I had that problem. Ended up fixing it by doing a complete tranny flush twice. Till all I saw was red fluid goin in and the same color coming out. Fixed it right up.

2nd at 45? I thought second was like 25-35? I had a tranny problem that second went out, so it was goin from 1st to third. Pressure imbalance.

i think it is goin into second i did a trans flush and maybe i should do it again and leave the plug out n run trans cleaner stuff through and see if that dont do ne thing thanks guys
