5R55E no 2nd or 5th
5R55E was slipping between 1st and 2nd and between 2nd and 3rd (not throwing any codes) so I replaced the valve body with remaned one that already had the transgo shift kit and new solenoids. When doing the valve body replacement I noticed that the original valve body gasket did have a blow out in it. Once the replacement was done I drove around and no more slipping, but noticed the truck was not getting 2nd or 5th gear (verified with forscan tool) and when driving fast enough in 4th gear eventually would throw the code P0735. Not sure what to do now, before the valve body replacement I had no issues getting into 5th gear. I got the valve body from shift rite transmissions. Genuine Mercon V fluid was used. No other codes showing up on forscan and if I disable overdrive during my commute no active errors show up.

Assuming 2001 or up Ranger
P0735 Gear 5 Incorrect ratio
Means computer has activated solenoid 3/5th(OD) and output shaft ratio didn't change
2nd and 5th both use solenoid 3(C) and OD band
But you are not getting any of these codes
P0760 Shift Solenoid C Malfunction
P0761 Shift Solenoid C Performance or Stuck Off
P0762 Shift Solenoid C Stuck On
P0763 Shift Solenoid C Electrical
P0764 Shift Solenoid C Intermittent
So its not a wiring or electrical issue
Could be solenoid 3 valve didn't seat correctly or passage is blocked/clogged
Good read here on what solenoids and clutches/bands are used in what "gears": https://atracom.blob.core.windows.ne.../2003_5_50.pdf
OD OFF doesn't effect 2nd gear, 2nd gear is 1st gear with OD(5th) turned ON, its not a "gear" just a combined ratio
Does the OD OFF light work when you press the button?
