help pleae!! rear seal for tranny

ok so i have a 91 ranger 2wd with a manual tranny and the rear seal is leaking bad i tried to pull driveshaft to replace and have it undone from rear diff but no matter how hard i pull it will not slide out of tranny. it does have a yoke on tranny side and is a one piece driveshaft.

any help would be greatly appreciated

Travis,

It should slip right out. There is nothing but a slip-fit drive shaft internal spline and the seal itself.

Unless yours is a S-cab, then you have a two piece DS with a slip yoke and a carrier bearing. If yours has the carrier bearing on the rivetted in crossmember just behind the tailshaft, you have to remove the two bolts from the top of it.

Worst case is your spline has galled and it'll take a bit of force. Might try tapping aft on the universal with a heavy hammer and a drift.
