i fix my rear end
i fix my rear end
well i took a look inside my carrier and i saw that i had basically just tore out the side gears down to nothing. so what i had to do is weld on the side gears. i will show pics later.
Weld on the side gears? What are you talking about? You're not going to HAVE a differential anymore, you'll have a permanently locked rear end.
Why don't you just go to a junkyard and find another differential?
Also, if you've torn up those so much, better take your axle completely apart and clean it out and replace all the bearings or you'll be taking it apart soon enough anyway...and probably not when you're expecting it.

yea as of right now it is full time posi. but it is just to get me buy untill i can get another one. i can the axles when i took it out to fix my diff. i shouldnt have any problems just for the time being
Okay, it's just that there's a lot of metal in there right now and you should also purchase new bearings and seals. I'm particularly concerned about the pinion bearing.
It's your axle, but when you "chew" up a lot of metal in there it's a good idea to replace the bearings.

okay i see what saying. umm i havent done that yet but maybe it will hold in there for a week. i hope so. i have a diff on order but i cant get here till later next week see thats what im waiting on. thanks for the advice
Might as well try to use the existing bearing a bit longer I guess, then do all the cleaning and replacement when you fit the new diff. Blessings to you and I hope it holds out until you get the parts.
