I goofed up....

Yup. I goofed up and made a rookie mistake & I would really appreciate some help. I took my engine apart anticipating my new engine would arrive much sooner than it is going to & I didn't take a single picture of what goes where. If someone could send me some high resolution in depth pictures under the hood of a 3rd gen with a 3.0 V6, please let me know and I will post my email address to send them to. Thank you x1,000,000 in advance.

Scott

What's a third gen Ranger? I personally consider that to be 1993-1997, but others may consider it to be 1998-2000 or 1998-2003.

Mine is a 2001, so in that generation. I know 1998-2012 as 3rd gen

Gotcha, it's all just preference.

Do you have the aluminum intake plenum or the plastic one?

It has the aluminum plenum. I don't think it matters, but its automatic, 2x4, non flex fuel

It's your call, but I suggest picking up a copy of the 2001 wiring diagrams from Ebay. They can help you pinpoint where each connector/wiring harness goes and are pretty simple to read unlike the ones from the 1980s.

You can find them for around $20-$50 depending on condition. I have one for each of my trucks and they've helped me countless times.

I have a Haynes service manual and it has all the wiring and vacuum diagrams in it. I know where the fuel injection wires go because everything falls back where it goes, my main concern is vacuum lines and getting the hardware in the right places
