2001 ranger 4x4 4.0 auto. 4 wheel stopped working. I can pull fuses to 4x4 and replace with the same fuses and it will start working.Fuses are good. I have replaced GEM, 4x4 control module and transfer case motor. Same problem. I can pull and plug back in fuses and it will work. Next morning no 4x4. When the 4x4 is not working the 4h and 4l lights on instrument cluster do not come on at start up. When the 4x4 is working they do light up at engine start and when 4x4 is switched on. Anything??Help, I am a mail carrier and need dependable 4x4. Chime in guys. Someone knows this 2001 ranger.

 

Was that year a year that had vacumm hubs? If so maybe a line is broke. Someone else please chime in, I forget when they switched away from them to the current live axel setup.
