Bearings, where do I get these?

So I have a 96 ranger, its 4x4 and the front end in the actually knuckle there are bearings that the axles will be riding against. Now I took my axles out a while back and I guess these bearings are messed up as my mechanic said I need new ones. Where in the hell would I find these? Please don't tell me I need new knuckles for 2 damn bearings.....

Also I have a locker for the front end that will be going in and I just wanted to see if there was anything special about it before it gets installed. I have an Aussie locker. Now from what I can remember it eliminates the C clip so I'll need to get a spring over the axle shaft so that it pushes against the axle and the knuckle to keep the shaft in place. (I believe that's the basics of what you need to do I)

You can get wheel bearings at any auto parts store (UAP, Pep Boys, Auto Zone......) If you like shopping on the net, try Rockauto.com, Jegs.com........

Yeah, I'm talking about these I believe Ford Ranger/Bronco II Dana 28/35 Spindle Bearings . I'm pretty sure these are what I need Dana/Spicer Spindle Bearing Repair Kit . Also I know that my rotors and wheel bearing are crap but my spindle was just slightly nicked when one of the bearings went really bad last time and got over heated, I couldn't get it off so I used a cut off wheel and well hit the spindle a bit, I don't think it should make a difference as long as I can get the bearing on and off right?

Also that spring I was talking about with the C clip eliminator is right here C-Clip Eliminator. So I'm all set with that.

yep thats what you need. should work just fine as long as the surface that the bearing rides on is still smooth. not too expensive either.

well the area isn't exactly smooth but it does slide on and off from what I remember. Would it really hurt it if it wasn't smooth of if I had to force it on a little? I mean it shouldn't be moving correct? Just the bearings roll. But you seem to know more than I so I'll await your response.

if its smooth where the bearings ride on it it will be fine. even a small nick shouldnt affect it as long as its not too big. for $12 its worth trying that kit

Guys, when you need bearings that you can't find or just want to spend less, go to a bearing supply company in your area. Most of these are geared toward industry, but the parts guys are used to dealing with us who want to save a buck (I was going to say idiots, but that probably wouldn't have been kosher) and get the right part the first time.
As for the rough axle, try a speedy sleeve. That may not work due to the increase in size.

From what I understand when I install the locker it doesn't have a C clip so I have to do something to make sure the axles stay in place, the spring pushes everything out together.

Also for the spindle, I think I may just take some sand paper to it and try to smooth it out a bit. If all else fails I'll have to buy a new spindle.
