Kick in rearend

Ok i just bought a 98 Ranger 4.0 4x4 EXT now when i start driving it runs fine but when i come to a stop or go to take off the back end kicks a little bit like when coming to a stop you can feel the backend jump and won't do it again until you take off and come to a stop again not sure of the exact problem to this any help on fixing this would be great thanks

Could be leaf spring bushings to mine wore out and allowed the leaf shackles to flop around in the bracket and created a thud on takeoff and stopping.
